Erika began her midwifery journey in 2006 as a direct‑entry midwife and went on to establish and operate a home birth practice in Ohio for eight years. In 2013, she earned her Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential through the NARM exam, and the following year she received her Texas midwifery license after relocating to San Antonio. Erika joined Birth Center Stone Oak in 2017 as a staff midwife and has since grown into the role of owner and Clinical Director.
Erika has a special interest in VBAC, breech birth, and water birth, and has attended nearly 1,000 births. She approaches every situation with the belief that birth works and is committed to helping parents gain confidence through knowledge and informed choice. Her goal is to support each family in creating a birth experience that reflects their unique needs and values.

Midwife
From a young age, I knew I wanted a career centered on helping others. Nursing felt like a natural first step, and I fell in love with the work. Each area I practiced in gave me new inspiration and strengthened my passion for educating families and their support systems. When my husband and I started our own family, we knew we wanted an out‑of‑hospital birth, which led us to the midwives at Birth Center Stone Oak.
During my 41‑week pregnancy, I learned more about my body and the process of pregnancy than I ever had during my entire nursing education. We welcomed our daughter in 2017, and just 14 months later, our son. Both pregnancies and births were completely different, yet the care we received was consistently full of wisdom, support, and genuine respect.
The experience changed me. Inspired is an understatement. I began my apprenticeship at the birth center in 2019, and since then I have become state licensed and nationally certified. I have attended countless births, supported families through every kind of experience, completed breech trainings, joined the Association of Texas Midwives, and fallen deeply in love with this work.
I believe birth is a powerful and transformative moment for the entire family and deserves to be honored as such. When a woman reflects on her birth experience, it should be filled with memories of empowerment, respect, and growth. My mission as a midwife is to educate, support, and encourage families as they welcome a new baby into their lives.

Jodi Brock, LM, CPM
Consultant Midwife
As my youngest grew more independent, I felt called to begin the next chapter of my life. I had a deep desire to serve women and provide care that supports their pregnancy and birth experiences. Caring for women as they brought their children into the world became a natural and meaningful transition.
I began working with expecting families in 1998 as a birth doula, childbirth educator, and licensed massage therapist specializing in maternal and newborn care. In January 2004, I started my midwifery apprenticeship and had the unforgettable experience of catching my first baby. After completing my clinical and academic training, I sat for the national exam and earned my Certified Professional Midwife credential in February 2006. That same year, in June, I received my Texas midwifery license. Each step—massage therapy, childbirth education, doula work, and finally midwifery—added to the knowledge and skills I share with families as they navigate pregnancy and birth.
Over the years, I have attended more than 750 births, each one unique and inspiring. My philosophy is to return honor, respect, and empowerment to where it has always belonged: the mother.
My experiences ultimately shaped the vision for a place where women and their families could receive care on their own terms. This vision became Birth Center Stone Oak. I am honored to be part of the care families receive here. Watching a woman and her family work together to welcome a new life is always a miracle. Their strength, love, and commitment can be felt at every birth.
