Prepare for Your Baby's Arrival With Expert Childbirth Classes

Our comprehensive Childbirth Education Program at Birth Center Stone Oak (BCSO) equips expectant parents with the knowledge and practical skills needed for a confident birthing experience. Hosted by Intuitive Beginnings Doula Collective, these classes cover key aspects of labor, birth, and postpartum care in a supportive environment. Whether you're planning a natural birth at our center or want to be prepared for all possibilities, our classes will provide you with the tools and information necessary for this significant life event.

Classes meet monthly on the second Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, offering an intensive six-hour educational experience. They take place in a designated education space at our birth center, creating an immersive and relaxed environment for participants. For families unable to attend in person, we also offer virtual or hybrid options, featuring one-on-one virtual classes via an online platform.

Our program is designed to help families understand both the physiological and emotional aspects of childbirth, including:

  • Physiology of labor and birth stages
  • Comfort measures and pain management techniques
  • Partner support strategies
  • Creating personalized birth plans
  • Understanding medical interventions when necessary
  • Active birthing positions
  • Birth center-specific protocols
  • Informed decision making using B.R.A.I.N.S method

Additionally, we cover essential topics such as:

  • Signs of labor and when to come to the birth center
  • The role of midwives and doulas in your birth experience
  • Benefits and challenges of natural childbirth
  • Pain management without medication (e.g., hydrotherapy, meditation, acupressure)
  • Tools available at BCSO (e.g., birth balls, water birth tubs)
  • Transfer protocols and procedures

If you have questions about our childbirth education options, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help prepare you for this life-changing experience.

Preparing for Birth is Essential for Expectant Parents

Understanding the birthing process before labor begins can greatly impact your birth experience. Many expectant parents feel unsure about what to expect during labor and delivery, which can lead to anxiety and stress during what should be a beautiful, though challenging, life event.

  • Less anxiety about unfamiliar aspects of labor
  • Greater confidence making informed decisions
  • Better preparation for managing discomfort
  • Clearer communication with your birth team
  • More meaningful partner involvement
  • Knowledge about necessary medical interventions
  • Understanding of birth center procedures

Our classes provide thorough education to help you approach childbirth with confidence instead of fear. When you understand the process and your options, you can better advocate for yourself and your baby throughout your birthing journey.
